Online Auction Websites
Shopping from online auction sites can be a very rewarding activity. The marketplace works exceptionally well, as often the sellers want to get rid of the item to make space/replace with newer version; and the buyer is looking out for a great deal. This way, both parties are happy.
The range of products listed on online auction sites is pretty much infinite; from a second hand macbook pro, to entire stamp collections. Some people have even been known to sell plastic carrier bags!
The best known online auction site, is without doubt, eBay, with millions of transactions occurring across the world every day. Sellers can easily list their item for sale, include a description and picture, and decide how long to run the listing for (usually a week). The seller can also decide to set a minimum price they will accept, which is known as a reserve in the world of auctions.
The buyers can search the eBay website by keyword, category, and even condition. There is an option to see how close the item is, which is convenient if the item is too large for postage. The buyer places a bid on the auction, and can monitor whether he has been outbid at all, at which point he may decide to increase his bid. The largest volume of activity on an auction happens during the final five minutes, where people enter bidding wars, where they are constantly trying to outbid each other.
The expert buyers will watch a number of items they are interested for a period of around a week. They will make sure they are at their computers at the time when the auctions are ending, and if the price is low enough, they will pounce and win the item!So what are you waiting for? Get on eBay and see what bargains you can find.
